A small package appeared before me: small glass tubes containing three small ball bearings. I didn’t order these, and I have no idea what they are for.

It was an ordinary day when a small package unexpectedly appeared on my doorstep. The sender was unknown and there was no return address on it. Curious as I was, I cautiously opened the package, wondering what might be inside. To my surprise, it contained small glass tubes, each with three small ball bearings. I had never ordered anything like this before and was surprised, as I wondered what they were for and where they came from.
Unpacking the contents: Glass tube with ball bearings
Upon closer inspection, the glass tubes proved to be fragile and transparent, making the shiny ball bearings inside clearly visible. The tubes were neatly packaged, suggesting they were intended for a specific purpose. Despite their intriguing appearance, I still did not know what they were intended for. The mystery deepened when I examined the packaging for clues or instructions, but found nothing.

Initial reactions and speculation
My first reaction was a mixture of confusion and intrigue. Why would someone send me these strange things? I wondered if it was a mistake, a joke, or perhaps a marketing trick. Could they be part of a new trend or hobby I wasn’t aware of? I contacted friends and family hoping someone would have an answer, but no one knew the answer.
Research into the origin: where do they come from?
Determined to solve the mystery, I began investigating the origin of the package. I checked the shipping label for recognizable information and contacted the delivery service, but they could not provide any further details. I even searched online for similar items in the hope of finding a match that could explain their destination. Despite my efforts, the source remained untraceable.
Understanding the goal: fish food accessories
After extensive research, I finally stumbled upon a possible explanation. The glass tubes with ball bearings closely resembled accessories for fishing lures, also known as « glass rattles. » These are small devices that anglers use to improve the effectiveness of softbaits. The rattles produce sound and vibrations in the water, which attracts fish and increases the chance of a successful catch.
